personalized stationary

I am trying to find stationary to have personalized for my friend who just got engaged. I wanted to give her a gift that reflects the upcoming change in her last name, and what better gift to show this than stationary that has been personalized with her new name. A few I found on www.pennypeople.com:

I also come across these adorable stickers:

an everyday classic

Now that I have my diamond studs back from the jeweler (I accidentally vacuumed one up and bent the post) I have been wearing them almost everyday. Something about a pair of earrings that are an everyday classic, I just love. I came across this pair on AUTO and love them.

glowstick art

"Street artists are using simple glowsticks to produce an amazing variety of light art and graffiti. These tags, comics, creatures and shapes fade as fast as they appear, unless they is captured by time-lapse photography. Like traditional graffiti and street art, light art comes in many forms."

I think these photos are really interesting. Found them on web urbanist, one of my new fav sites.

color with every step

With stairs like this, how could you ever have a gloomy day? I've often thought a zebra print would be fun on stairs but this takes runners on stairs to a whole new level!

being fashionable even in the great outdoors

Who knew there was such a thing as fashionable camping equipment? Orla Kiely has an adorable tent with matching sleeping bags and other gear. This collection makes me want to pack up the car and head to the Sierras

sunday afternoon

I spent a better part of yesterday driving around town to find a frame for the pink poster. I finally ended up at Cheap Pete's Framing in the inner Richmond (yelp'ing about this place later today). While cheaper than most frame stores it is not ikea cheap but better quality. I originally wanted to go white but I think the blond wood looks just as nice. Also in the second pic is one of my flea market finds from 2 weeks back. A vintage Havoline Oil tin. While I have a few "red cup" mugs to remind me of my days advertising Starbucks and the crazy planning season of the Holiday red cup campaign, I felt the tin would be a great memento of my Havoline advertising days. If this trend continues, I'll eventually be driving a MINI around town vs. the blue jetta? I do love the MINI. Finally, the close up of the pillow shows the great detail of the one of the Mexican pillows I was talking about in an earlier post. I finally found inserts for them. I am slightly happy I did not have to resort to making custom inserts, however I was up for the challenge.

thanks!

Thanks to the reader who lead me to adasa.com, i'm ordering the perfume right now! (well i will later tonight at home)

Also, my poster arrived today, the pink one! Yeah! I was really impressed with it. I thought about just hanging it up with double sided tape, but after seeing it in person I am going to frame it (just a simple black one from ikea).

Photos from House Beautiful

Some great images from the latest House Beautiful. I especially like the polka dot bench at the end of the bed!

keep calm and carry on

today is poster day. While purchasing the one, I remembered seeing this poster while reading some blogs and i fell in love with it. The message could not be better. The perfect thing to have at work, am I right or what? Now, I am trying to decide which color to get...thoughts?

for like ever...

Just bought this poster to decorate my area at work. so excited. let's hope it comes faster than the 3 weeks it quoted for delivery. I saw it in Domino Mag and finally found the tiny website that has them

no E people!

Most of the time people get it right the first time. Juli. Not Julie. Yes, Juli with no E. But for some reason, at my new job people are NOT getting it (both internal co-workers and all my outside vendors and partners). I want to scream NO E people.

I mean really!

That is really all I complain about right now, seeing as the weather is AMAZING right now in the bay area. Currently in Sausalito is is HOT, i think high 80s maybe even low 90s! While this is not a live pic, it is basically what I am looking at right now as I leave work to grab lunch.

Big Love
Weeds
Entourage
and House

mimosa mi amore

I am on the hunt again for my on again off again perfume. Mimosa by Calypso. I love it. "Blended with Mimosa and hints of grapefruit, mandarin, and musk, this divine fragrance entices the senses". My last bottle was taken away by airport security, erg!

slacking

I've been slacking and my one reader (maybe i have more - but my one KNOWN reader) informed me I needed a new post.

I have so many potential things to blog about right now, hence being to busy to blog. However, I want to keep this blog about pretty happy things. So tonight, when I get home I will compile everything I have seen this week on the internets that I have fallen in love with. If I am able to find my digital camera I will also post all the lovely things I purchase (haggled) at the flea market Sunday.

cold feet?

Ok. they are not the cutest slippers I have ever seen, but I do love that they keep your feet toasty warm while you are at your desk. They connect to your USB port and heat up! Do you love that or what? I need them ASAP!

"new" bed

This afternoon I went around town buying new sheets, a new duvet cover and a new pillow (all white) to go with my Mexican pillows from Guadalajara. Then, I did about 3 loads of wash to clean my new linens and made my new "bed". Can not WAIT to crawl in it tonight. Photos are not that great as they are from my phone, my digital is MIA right now. On to playing the Game of Life while drinking wine with some guests.

memorial day

before I go off for the weekend, I wanted to take a moment and honor why I have a three day weekend. Thank you for your ultimate sacrifice. Being so close to someone that just recently died over in Iraq has changed my perspective of this holiday weekend. It is no longer just a three day weekend to kick off summer.

wingman theory

Tonight i learned from one of my guy friends the "wingman" trick. He informed me I was a victim of the WMT. Hopefully this is not true and said WM turns out to be the swooper (definitely my type) Instead of current swooper stalking me (did not strike my fancy, but actually scared me!). We shall see.

On to a new topic. I sewed myself. Like actually took the needle and thread thru my skin on my index finger while attempting to sew the strap back on my sundress. I am currently in the process of buying a sewing machine and I have started to question this new purchase. If I sew myself while doing a simple stitch, what will I do with an electric sewing machine? My roommate suggested we need to get a first aid kit stat.

new bedroom

slowly, i am redo-ing my bedroom. I am working around multi-colored hand stitched fabric from mexico. I am thinking everything white except the pillows I am making with the fabric. This is the best photo I could find of the fabric, except mine has greens, blues, oranges, yellows, etc.

on a roll

yes, i am finally blogging now. I first attempted this blog about 8 months ago. I got a blogger account and had every intention of writing the next day. but no actual blogs were written. months later here i am. on my 3rd blog in 2 days. Obviously, I am not going to attempt to be the new The Company Bitch. Like TCB, i may delete posts in a fit of paranoia but not likely. I am not going to use this blog to bitch about work, people or the crazy guy on the street (OK, maybe I will at times), but rather I am going to post about things I think are interesting, pretty and entertaining.
